Bandipora, January 04 (KNO) : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora on Friday placed a Tehsil Supply Officer of Food, Civil, Supplies and Consumer (FCS&CA) Department under suspension following the seizure of a truck loaded with government ration earlier this week. On December 30, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and Superintendent of Police Bandipora themselves caught red-handed a truck loaded with government ration meant for black marketing. The Deputy Commissioner ordered the suspension of TSO Mohammad Yousuf Ganaie with immediate effect and attached to DC Office. He also directed to withhold the salary of Assistant Director FCS&CA Bandipora. Dr Choudhary also directed to constitute an Enquiry committee headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Bandipora to inquire about the matter and fix the responsibility for dereliction of duties and actual involvement of officers or officials of the department in the incident of black-marketing of government ration. The committee shall also come up with recommendations for prevention of such incidents in future and have been asked to submit the detailed enquiry report within a period of two weeks. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also issued a show-cause notice to the assistant director FCS&CA for asking an officer to conduct enquiry who was suspected to be involved in the black marketing. In an order issued on Friday, DC Bandipora asked the Officer to explain his position within three days failing which action, as warranted, shall be taken against him for drafting an order so casually and in violation of the laid procedure for official enquiries and contrary to the facts and circumstances of the incident.(KNO)
